Presenting at Art of Digital
This week I am presenting at the Art of Digital, 25th June, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.
Art of Digital is a partnership project between Arts Council England, FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) and folly helping to promote the use of digital tools within arts organisations.
Social Media Master Class
I will be presenting a seminar / workshop around social media marketing and networking for the art and creative industries. There are subtle differences in the approach and strategy compared to the business sector.
Instead of driving business leads or opportunities, it is about establishing your reputation in order to influence others:
- To trust you
- To buy your work
- To talk about your exhibitions & projects
- To recommend your work / projects
There are some inspiring uses of technology, Twitter and Facebook to create Twitter novels and stories. We Tell Stories by Penguin are their new interactive books. The stories are integrated with Google Maps, so you follow the story using Google Maps.
What has struck me whilst reseraching this presentation is the creative use of the technology. I use Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging etc on a daily basis for my personal and business use. What has inspired me is how this technology can be used to write novels, promote exhibitions, or getting people inspired in poetry.
Looking forward to Thursday and presenting the seminar, but also getting feedback on how people are using this technology to drive their creative and arts projects.
