Linking your Twitter to your LinkedIn Group through RSS
Linking your Twitter to your LinkedIn account has now become very simple with the Tweets application LinkedIn introduced in May. But how about extending that integration by linking your Twitter account to your LinkedIn Group?
One way of doing this is to put an RSS feed of your Twitter account (company or person) into your relevant LinkedIn Group. Since the recent changes to LinkedIn Groups, there is no longer a 'News' section, so the RSS feeds come up in the same feed as all of your group discussions.
How to do it:
To put your RSS feed into your LinkedIn group, simply go to your Twitter profile and on the right hand side of the screen, below the small pictures of the people you are following, there is an icon for your RSS feed that will say next to it 'RSS Feed of (your company name's) tweets.'

Once you click on that icon it will bring up the RSS feed of your own Tweets. So if you then copy the URL...

Then if you click on the 'Manage News Feeds' from the Manage tab in your group, you can paste the URL into the 'Add a News Feed' box in the 'Manage News Feeds' section of your group.


Your tweets will not be visible immediately, as it will take a few hours for the RSS feed to come through. Once the tweets come through, they will appear in your group in the same way as other RSS feeds do now alongside the group discussions.

There are pro's and con's to putting a Twitter RSS feed into your LinkedIn Group. If you update your Twitter often, then people may not like to be flooded with status updates in a group, rather than more active discussions. However, this may depend upon your Twitter strategy, as you may tweet questions, topics and links that provoke a discussion, which makes them ideal to share across another platform, in this case to your LinkedIn Group. It may also help you in regularly updating your group with fresh content, whilst saving time.
